RECTOR: The Ven. Dr. Douglas B. Mills was called to be Rector of Holy Trinity Anglican Church in August 2009. Fr. Doug’s ministry emphasizes pastoral care for all parishioners culminating in deep concern for the welfare of every individual soul in his care. He is also an accomplished catechist and teacher, offering excellence in teaching ministry to his congregation.
Fr. Mills holds both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in theology (ThM) as well as a Ph.D. in Pastoral Ministries. In addition to serving as rector of Holy Trinity, Fr. Mills is Dean of the External Studies Department of Andrewes Hall Theological College and Seminary, an institution of the Diocese of the West of the Reformed Episcopal Church; he serves as Chairman of the diocesan Committee on Nominations and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Diocese of Mid America.
Prior to arriving in this parish, Fr. Mills served as the Rector of Christ Covenant Anglican Church in Sevierville, Tennessee. During his time in Tennessee, Fr. Mills and his wife Jennifer served as chief administrators of Covenant Christian Academy, a K-12 school founded by the Mills’ in 1989. He was also Dean of his Convocation in the diocese of the Southeast, and served as Archdeacon in the Diocese of the Central States.
Through his years of ministry, Fr. Mills also served as a hospital chaplain and is a certified Christian Counselor. He is a veteran of the United States Navy.
Fr. Doug and his wife, Jennifer, have been married more than 30 years and have five children and two grandchildren.
POSTULANT: JUSTIN DONATHAN was approved as a Postulant for Holy Orders in the Reformed Episcopal Church serving under the direction of Fr. Mills in September of 2014. Prior to joining Holy Trinity Justin earned his Bachelor of Arts in Humane Letters from the University of Oklahoma, in Norman, Oklahoma, and his Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. During that time he served in several churches and at various times as a lay assistant, a ministry intern, and a deacon.
While in seminary Justin met and married his wife Alicia. Justin and Alicia have three little girls, Noelle, Grace (Gracie Mae), and Evelyn (Evy), a newborn son, Ambrose and an English Setter named Bertie.
Justin hopes to be ordained to the Diaconate in late 2015 or early 2016, and then eventually to be ordained to the Priesthood. Justin currently assists Fr. Mills with the liturgies, is a licensed lay reader and chalice bearer, teachesSunday school, and assists with other ministries of Holy Trinity.
